You can start this new year with a new journal

A New Year begins and so do the resolutions.

I’m sure for a lot of people, not just writers, one of those resolutions is to write. To keep a diary or journal. However, putting your thoughts and feelings to paper can be daunting.

But there’s no need to feel overwhelmed or intimidated.

Writing is made easier with the right prompts and encouragement.

I’ve published a journal to empower and enable you to put those thoughts to words. This little journal provides a jumping off point for that diary you dreamed of keeping. Write daily, weekly or when the mood strikes.

There are two sizes to choose from, 6 x 9 and a pocket edition.

Please hop over to Amazon.com and it out.

It’s that wonderful time of the year!

Time for joy and cheer.

Thank Y’all for a wonderful year. With the encouragement, feedback, reviews and great writing tips from so many incredible writers and bloggers I managed to produce two children’s picture books.

But now it’s time to relax and enjoy family and friends.

So eat, drink and be merry! Read, rest and relax. That’s what I plan to do.

And as you’re catching up on your reading, I hope you’ll enjoy the “Best of Jean’s Writing.”

To each and everyone, have a fabulous holiday and a very Merry Christmas! – Jean

Do you understand the need for an ISBN?

The link below from Kristen Twardowski is filled with information about the ISBN (International Standard Book Number.)

I’ve always thought of the ISBN like a sort of phone number incorporating the country, area code, full name, etc.

Kristen explains in detail what each part of the number stands for, where to get one and why you need it.

I’ve used the free ones provided by Createspace and I’ve bought Universal numbers through Bowker. Why did I purchase numbers? Because with my own numbers, I can publish through IngramSpark and Createspace which opens up distribution to bookstores and libraries. At least, I hope so.

Did you know what all the digits stood for?

Where do you get your ISBN?

ISBN: What It Is and Why a Book Needs One  by  Kristen Twardowski

Book publishing isn’t just about finding great pieces of writing and bringing them out into the world. Sometimes it is about the nitty-gritty. This means that at some point, an author or publ… keep reading

Do you know how to use this media?

Okay, I’m gonna come clean.

Reddit totally baffles me!

For something so foreign it ranks as 11th most visited website!

How can that be? I don’t get it nor do I understand how to use this venue. Now I’ve tried, believe me. But Reddit is a daunting website. The crowd that visits is very different from say, Facebook or Pinterest. I’ve had readers on Reddit, tell me to get off and if you don’t post in the right place in the right way, Reddit dumps your post.

So how do we use this enigma?

Even after reading, reading, and clicking I still don’t get how to use Reddit effectively.

Have you posted on Reddit?

Do you understand how to use it effectively?

I’d love to know if you’ve conquered Reddit.
