Want an excellent way to sell your books?

Earlier in the week, I discussed the need to prepare for your first book signing event, but there are other ways to sell a signed copy of your book.

How about autographed, signed copies direct from your website?

That’s right. You can offer signed copies of your book to readers. This is something I hadn’t thought of until I read an article sent to me, from Janice Hardy written by J. Kathleen Cheney, @jkcheney .

The biggest question I have now is…

Do people care about signed copies of children books?

I’m not sure. So, I haven’t set up a retail page yet. But, I wouldn’t hesitate to sell a signed copy if it was requested. Hint, hint.

Another thing that has held me back from setting up an online store, is time. Time away from writing. I don’t want anything else to take my attention from, blogging, and writing. Life takes enough of my time and attention.

From what I understand, setting up an online store, may not be complicated but can be time-consuming to maintain. Just like everything else on the internet, if you want it to be successful you must babysit the darn thing.

Are you up on the latest Kindle technology?

Kindle in Motion!

Kindle in Motion is a totally different format than Kindle A\V or Kindle with Audio\Video. Which makes me wonder if KM will fare better.

With little fanfare, Amazon introduced Kindle in Motion in the middle of 2016. Not sure how I missed this rollout, apparently I was lost in space. LOL

After reading a recent post about the new moving ebooks, I decided to do a little research. If you didn’t know, I love research. Hello, Google.

As usual, I’ve provided more links at the end of this post for your reading pleasure.

Size is important and the size of Kindle in Motion books range between 200-600mb. And apparently, there is a lot involved in producing a Kindle in Motion ebook other than formatting.

After watching this I saw dollar signs! Cha-ching, going out not coming in. I don’t know about you guys but this technique will most likely price me out of formatting my books with Kindle in Motion.The artwork, in and of itself, is expensive. But, animated artwork is downright prohibitive for most writers. Unless you’ve enjoyed the success of JK Rowling.

Food for thought. An author might cut costs by animating just the cover and not the entire book, but would the reader be disappointed?

You heard right.

Time to double security and protect your books on Amazon.

Now, not only do I need to work on this year’s taxes, but looks as if I may need to work on my Amazon account.

What the hell? Hackers are now invading Amazon? You’ve got to be kidding me.

I feel as if I’m playing Wack-a-Mole trying to avoid hackers and stupid people. This is getting ridiculous. I change my passwords from time to time, but now I’ve got to do more to keep these crooked jerks out.

Here’s what I learned today about Amazon Security…

Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) accounts are linked to my regular Amazon account.
Hackers attempt to break into customer Amazon accounts every single day.
If a Hacker gains access to my Amazon account they have access to my KDP.
A Hacker will change my password, locking me out of all my accounts.
Two-step verification is the best way to protect both.
Set up two-step verification through my Amazon account.

Two-step verification is a pain in my butt. There I said what most of you are thinking. But getting back control of KDP and the books you’ve slaved over for months is more important.
