Winter of Discontent

The Winter of Our Discontent popped in my mind last night as I tossed and turned, trying to fall asleep. I think, now that I’m older I might appreciate John Steinbeck more. While the story didn’t fit my situation, the title spoke volumes. I won’t bother you with the details. I’m sure you’ve had your share of troubles where life was put on hold by circumstances. Things happen and all anyone can do is hold on, going with the flow, hoping not to drown before reaching the end of the rapids. Writing goes to the bottom of your list, once more its in the realm of your dreams.

Everyday my Inbox has been filled with how- to overcome writer’s block in one form or another. Most of them said, just do it. I didn’t have writer’s block. I had life circumstances block. The only fix for that is time. I hit the delete button.

Well, Spring is almost here. My mind is clicking again, and once more, the characters I love are visiting me. Although, I do wish they wouldn’t pick so late at night to visit. I do need my sleep. For the last few days, just as I’m drifting off, they slip into my mind and whisper they want to come out and play. Too bad they’re gone in the morning. But at least with the coming of spring, and the calming of circumstances, they are tiptoeing back into the forefront of my life. It’s good to be back in the groove.

Has life ever pushed you in a ditch?

How did you get your writing groove back?

Separating the chaff

I’ve noticed more and more everyone appears to be on the same wave length. Not that I mind, because my in-box is overflowing with knowledge. However, I try and pick out the nuggets. As with all trends this one will soon fade and another take its place. So, I’m making notes and hope I won’t forget which file I’ve stashed all this wealth.

I’ve not had a lot of time to write, life happened, but I’m reading and studying. Maybe you’ll find some of these nuggets helpful too.

There are tons more, but these offered something unique. If you’ve found a post, that has helped you in your writing, let me know. Let’s pass it on.

Special-Read all about it!

Thank you for the honor. Scott mentioned that some bloggers do not accept awards. I am not one of them. I accept all awards, from the prestigious, to the silly and anything in-between. I love bling of any kind. Thank you Scott.

You might note that Scott suggested to send out 15 blogger awards, I am only sending out 7. Sorry but oh well. If as Scott mentions below you are not into this type of fun, please ignore. To the others enjoy. I do love reading your blogs and hope you continue writing your nuggets of wisdom.

I got nominated for the Dragon’s Loyalty Award. I was nominated by a fellow blogger and reader of this blog, Scott L Vannatter! Which according to him, the Dragon’s Loyalty Award is a combination of both The Versatile Blogger Award and The Very Inspiring Blog Award.  Thanks Scott… check out his blog >HERE <.

Now with anything there are rules:

1. Display the Award on your site

2. Announce it with a post and link to whoever presented your award

3. Present 15 awards to deserving Bloggers.  I follow a lot of bloggers who do not accept awards, plus, I try to get newer ones brought in, so the list will be shorter and if you are not on it and wanted to be, I am so sorryhmmsince it’s short, perhaps you can drop me a note.

4. Drop them a comment to tip them off after you’ve linked them to the post

5. Post 7 interesting things about yourself.

The Bloggers I honor are:

Becoming French with a Texas Flair
