Starting a story need not be hard

Writing prompts make starting easier.

If you’re new to my blog, I love writing prompts.

But not all prompts are created equal. That’s why I was so excited to find this blog post.

Ten Minute Writing Exercises  by Practical Creative Writing

What’s so different about these prompts? The prompt is not a word, picture or one sentence. No, there are three. Three questions to ask about one situation. I think this exercise could be applied to a WIP. Hmm… (I’m thinking.)

After you’ve read the post I’d love to know what you think.

Do you find this type of suggestive writing helpful?

Could you apply the same three question approach to your WIP?

I think it would be helpful for when I get stumped.

Numbers 3 & 6 helped me.

I added the translate button. It had never occurred to me that not every browser gives you the option to translate a page. Good to know. Also, I hadn’t thought about limiting the number of posts to show up on the first page. My blog now loads faster since I limited that to 3 posts.

Which one of the 7 do you need to change on your blog?

How scammers can profit from your promotion

Your generosity, that’s how.

Writing a book is not for the faint of heart.

Takes hours, of blood, sweat, and tears. Lots of tears. Why oh why would someone scam off of this hard-earned work? I just don’t get it.

Just when I thought I heard everything, along comes book scammers. Really? Seems every time you give away a book, there is someone ready to profit from your freebie.

Reading this post by Carrie Rubin explains a lot.

I’ve wondered where and how some of my books were showing up as “new-used” for sale by other people. Now I know.

Want to know how to make over your blog?

Simple, change the font and change the look.

I wasn’t real happy with the look of my blog, so that’s what I’ve done, tried out different fonts. Like with my living room, which by the way drives my husband nuts I like to shift things around every now and again.

Think I’ve found some keepers, at least for now. Futura PT and FF Meta Serif. Let me know if you think the overall look is an improvement or not or you can’t tell or even if you don’t remember. LOL

My apologies if while I was shifting fonts around you were bombarded by flickers from my blog.

Hmm, does WordPress send out an update every time I change something on my page?

Yikes! I hope not, that could get annoying.

But, like y’all I want my blog to look the best it possibly can. How do you decide which fonts look best? Sometimes the default font that comes with the theme is perfect. Other times, meh…

If you’re looking to spice things up, consider changing your dusty old font.
