Do you like to reblog?
Want more control over your post page?

As the saying goes, “there’s more than one way to skin a cat.”
I’m sure most of you are familiar with the “Reblog” button but I prefer the “Press This” button.

Or what about a Blogspot post? I use the title with a link to the post.
Why? Because I’m a control freak. I like to know what my post will look like once it’s published. Plus I like to control when my post hits the web.
Here’s one of my little videos to explain the process.
So what do you think?
Will this help you share more blog posts, or not?
Any tips or shortcuts you use to reblog?
I’d love to hear from you, let me know how you’re doing! Leave a comment or click the “write me” tab or look for me on Twitter @jeancogdell, Facebook at jean.cogdell and Amazon.com, stop by and say hey! The lights are on, and I’m waiting.
Please remember to share this post with your Twitter peeps and Facebook fans.
You are awesome!!
I just posted about how to control when my reblogs are posted. Wow! Thank you.

Oh my, you’ve got me blushing. But I’ll take the compliment. Thanks for letting me know you liked the post.

Very helpful. One thing about sharing this way is you could remove any pictures to avoid possible copyright infractions. And I suppose it would not be ethical to change the text of the original post, or to take credit for it.

Always give credit where credit is due! And as tempting as it may be to correct what you might believe to be a typo or grammar error, DON’T. Always leave the blurb as the writer published.
One thing I enjoy doing is sharing what gem I picked up from the post or article. Give a little insight as to why I chose to reblog.

Good advice. The original text should be left strictly alone. The only input by the person sharing the post should be in their added comments. I was aware of Press This but had no idea how it could be used until I read your article.

Thanks Jean it did help. I have encouraged people to visit other sites in my blog posts because I wasn’t sure how to share. The next time I am referring to someone else’s work, I will try to put these steps to work.

Hi Jean. Your video makes it crystal clear. I’ve tried this in the past but because my wordpress site is from WordPress dot org, it failed to perform. I’ll try again, perhaps I missed something. Thanks to Mr. Ape too for sharing your post. 😄

Hmm, didn’t think dot org would be different. Interesting. However you can still do the link thing.

I didn’t know there was another way to reblog posts. I will have to watch the video again, though. Thank you for sharing your video. I had the radio on and it conflicted with your soft voice.

Sorry about that, I’ll try to speak louder in the next one. 🙂

Welcome Jean – Can you do a trailer showing how to make a live video like the one you’ve posted? – I for one, would like to know how to do that 👍😃❤️

Hi Jean, very interesting. Thank you. I had no idea there were other ways to share a blog post. Do you go back to the original blogger and say that you have shared the post in this way? Just as you would say – reblogged on?
I have another unrelated question about your post today. I see from your images that you are using Pixabay; I have started using them also. They say no attribution is needed. Do you do this simply as a courtesy or is it actually required. I have been wondering about this as they offer an excellent service and I feel they deserve some promotion also.
Thanks, Wendy

Yes, I leave a comment that I am reblogging their post. Also, my link to their blog should produce a pingback to them. As to Pixabay, no they don’t require it but ask for bloggers to acknowledge them as a courtesy. I think it’s just good karma. 🙂
