You must read this!

Today I’m thrilled to promote a writer and her story published today in Every Day Fiction. I’m thrilled because the author, Sheila M. Good is not only a good writer but she is my critique partner and my sister. So I’m doubly proud as a big sister and a writer who talks shop with her all most every day.

Her story is one of love and friendship which speaks to the heart but the ending like any good story stops you in your tracks. I sometimes wonder if only in the South are these rituals still so sacred. So you should take a moment, grab a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy

Are you ready? Lets Go!

I think I can, I think I can… Time to come out of hibernation. Spring is here and I’m determined to rev up my submissions. There are a lot of wonderful magazines and anthologies waiting. Now all I need to do is produce something fabulous, hit send, cross my fingers, rub a rabbit’s foot and pray the editors will accept a piece or two. What about you? Are you ready to submit something amazing to the many waiting editors?
Here are a few of the many contests and magazines which popped into my Inbox. Let me know where you are submitting.

Don’t you be blue

If you smile…

You’ll stand out and attract positivity. So stay on the sunny side. Today this made me smile so I hope it brings a smile to your face too.  It was attached to an informative writers blog, which I enjoyed but the pic is what captured my fancy. Go to She Writes to read the article.

The Report

The Report

Janie and I practiced on our hands and in the mirror. None of the books talked about flavors, unless the characters had eaten something gross. We didn’t think that counted.

We’d done rock paper scissors and I lost. Some middle school lessons are hard, but I’d promised a report by today.
“So, what does it taste like? Was it gross?”
I felt my cheeks grow warm. “No, not gross. Mike taste like a boy.”
My face now on fire and flock of wild birds flapping in my stomach set me off in fits of giggles. Janie joined in.
The prompt this week is:               …what does it taste like…
