Do you write the story to fit the title or the title to fit the story?
I find it easier to write the story to fit a title. The title for me is a bit of a springboard.
But, my newest work-in-progress, I began writing the story without an inkling of the title. I do have a working title but nothing has jelled for me.
Has this ever happen to you?

In the past, I’ve started out with a title before even doing any preliminary work but with my current project, I don’t have a title yet. Unwittingly, this has relieved some tension concerning my writing sections.

Hadn’t thought about no title setting me free from constraints. Thanks for the new perspective.

Hey Jean, also you can go to Amazon and search the title. Should have added that to my first comment 🙂

I thought I had a title but now I’m not so sure. I googled it and was amazed to find how many books there were with the same title. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

I don’t know either. But, think about this… if someone searches for a book with similar or same title the reader may stumble into yours. Don’t thinks that a bad thing.

I also find it easier to write a story to fit the title. It keeps me focused.

That’s how I feel too, however this latest WIP started with an idea not a title.
