Want to know how your blog is doing?
Well, there is an easy, great way to assess, improve and create a better website.
After reading the post from Story Empire Blog below, I followed one of the links provided (WEBSITE GRADER) and here is what I discovered about my blog.
Yay, at last, I managed to get the security part right. But let’s look a little deeper.
First up Performance, grade 22/30.
Hmm, looks like my HTTP requests need to come down. But not bad.
Uh Oh, got an X. I must confess that JavaScript and CSS stuff always leaves me scratching my head. But this weekend I will read up a little on it. After all who wants an X?
Alright, alright! 30/30 on Mobile! Moving on…
To SEO. Another scary, confusing acronym that totally baffles me. No wonder my website scored 15/30 AND received a big fat X in two areas.
Page Titles, I can handle. Meta descriptions, those may take a while to figure out.
Using the website was super easy. But now I’ve more work to do. The WEBSITE GRADER then gave me a list of suggestions to improve my website.
Guess what I’m doing this weekend?
The article also has a couple of other suggestions and links you may find interesting, especially if you are new to blogging. So you might want to read the entire post.
Oh, talk about a rabbit hole! I’ve been down that sucker more times than I care to count. Running around 77 and for now, I’ll take it. @sheilamgood at Cow Pasture Chronicles

For a novice that has no idea what most of the criterion means, I got a 71. I’ve been waiting for when I have more time, but I want to upgrade my site. Perhaps when I do, my score will be better. Thanks for an informative post.

Some of this stuff was way over my head too Chuck, so don’t feel too bad. I just do what I can and let the other stuff go. LOL

I do not have my own domain right now so the site could not rate my blog.

That’s odd because mine is hosted by WordPress

But you are not on the free plan. You are paying for your space. Your URL is https://jeanswriting.com. Mine is http://ascriptedmaze.wordpress.com. Mine is a subdomain where yours is a main one.

Mine is a free website is jmcogdell.wordpress.com, but I did purchase the domain jeanswriting.com for a yearly fee and it is mapped to jmcogdell.wordpress.com. Unfortunately after I set up jmcogdell.wordpress.com as my free website I realized no one would know how to find that using my initials.

I was dubious about whether I would understand any of what I found, but the results point to one general issue which I suspect will make a whole load of difference. Thanks for explaining about it.

This is great and makes it all a little easier to understand. I got 84 overall, which is pretty impressive for someone who has no idea what they’re doing. Thanks for posting this.
