“Hold her steady!”
“I am!” The old ladder shook. A splinter pricked my left hand. Damn, he’s got no business on the roof. I should’ve called a repairman.
I tipped my head back, and squinted in the blinding sun. A chuckled escaped my lips.
“Woman, you won’t be laughing when I fall.”
“Yeah, I will. But in the meantime, I’m enjoying the view.”
From this angle he didn’t look a day past thirty. My heart fluttered at the tight Levis perched above my head. A warm flush crept up my neck.
“Hurry up,” I said. The words caught, his head turned, and brown eyes met mine.
“Coming. The roof can wait.”
